Curtain Pole Installation Tips
Having draperies in your abode is important. These decorations complete a room’s look or theme, and they also provide you with privacy, especially if you live in a crowded neighbourhood. They help in keeping the cold out during winter as well, and they can control the amount of sunlight that comes in during summer. However, before putting these up, you need to make sure that the curtain rods and brackets are properly installed.
The first thing you have to do is to determine where you want to place the rods. You will need to use hollow-wall anchors if you want to mount them on the wall, but these are not needed if you want to place the curtain pole on the window’s wooden casing. Next, hold the rod up to the casing or to the wall to check the appropriate height, and mark the spots where you would place the drapery bracket holes, the recommended placement of which is 3 to 6 inches from the edge of the window.
Driving the screws will be a snap if shallow holes are first drilled. This step can be made easier and the results can be made better if you use power tools, such as variable-speed drills. After the pilot holes are made, the screws, which are usually provided by the curtain manufacturer, can be inserted through the brackets and attached to the wall or casing with ease. Then, place the pole through the drapery’s holes and position it on the bracket.
Decorating your home with window coverings is easy, especially after the necessary parts have already been installed. Use the tips above to make your home better and more beautiful.
